They initially started out as a research programme in the area of Women and Children’s health and Nutrition. Over a period of time, they decided that other factors like income generation, medical problems, etc needed to be focused on. The objectives are to promote village level health and development, and to promote research on healthcare practices, to disseminate the findings from the research to appropriate policy and decision making authorities, to collaborate with existing service providers and organization, rather than duplicate services.
