Late Dr. K. V. Amarnath started his practice in V. V Puram in the year 1976. What started as a humble practice soon became a household name to the families of Basavangudi, and its surrounding areas. During the Covid-19 pandemic, his house became his clinic when he chose to treat his patients even at the age of 72 at his doorstep. He treated approximately 20-25 patients per day at his residence and attended to a few 100s of calls during the lockdown and consulted them over the phone. He contracted the virus while on duty and was hospitalised. He breathed his last on July 5th, 2020, due to Covid but still doing what he loved, treating his patients until he couldn’t.
