Namma Bengaluru Awards Trust for the year proposed to be given under various categories to individuals and institutions whether in the public or private sector as an initiative by the Namma Bengaluru Awards Trust to thank ordinary citizens and institutions for their extraordinary contributions to the city of Bengaluru.

All those geographic areas that are covered by the 198 Wards of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Government Official : Any Government employees at the Central, State, Urban Local Body, Panchayat level/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Public Bodies or any organization – Central/ State/ PSU/ any institution created by an Act of Parliament (either Central or State) such as BDA, BBMP, BESCOM including government hospitals, government schools and colleges who have provided services in the city for the current year as on the date of evaluation by the Jury.

Citizen Individual: Any socially responsible Bengalurean citizen who has contributed towards the development of Bengaluru, as on the date of evaluation while fulfilling legal and ethical requirements. Achievers include individuals from all walks of life including, but not limited to teachers, doctors, sportspersons, lawyers, activists, social workers etc.

Rising Star: Any socially responsible Bengalurean citizen under the age of 24 who have sustainably contributed towards the development of Bengaluru, as on the date of evaluation while fulfilling legal and ethical requirements. Achievers include individuals from all walks of life including, but not limited to teachers, doctors, sportspersons, lawyers, activists, social workers etc.

Social Entrepreneur: An individual who has recognized a social issue and used entrepreneurial principles to organize, create and manage a venture to bring about social change and impact. The individual must have been operating in Bengaluru for a period of at least one year, as on the date of evaluation by the jury. The venture may or may not be an institution for profit.

Media Individual: Any individual employed in the media industry who has highlighted social issues of Bengaluru and reached out to the relevant audience so as to further the overall development of the city in the last one year, while ensuring commitment to their professional and social ethics.

Namma Bengalurean of the Year – Selection by Jury members only

Any person or institution who has been nominated correctly by at least 1 nominator in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Namma Bengaluru Awards.

Personnel from Namma Bengaluru Awards or appointed / engaged by Namma Bengaluru Awards Trust who are responsible for the conduct of the awards.

Group of persons selected by Awards Management to evaluate the Applicants at various stages of the evaluation process.
